Holed up in Nacogdoches (nak*uh*doh*shus),TX for the night, I'm beat, dragged out. ready to crash.
The city is reported to be the oldest in Texas with evidence of a settleement dating back 10,000 years. That likely makes it the oldest in the country.
Anyway, we drove through the Missouri and Arkansas Ozark
mountains this morning and afternoon. It's a gorgeous part of the
country on U.S. 65 that I haven't seen before and would like to explore
a lot more.

Trees
don't drop their leaves nearly so soon here as they do in Michigan, but
it was in the mid- 70's today. Beautiful weather, beautiful
vistas. The best of it I missed because we were in a hurry to get
into Texas. Finding exactly the right place takes a little
planning, and timing. We were racing through and I made this
single stop where I took all the photos within less than 25 yards
of the truck.
