We spent the day with friends at South Padre Island.  This was our fourth or fifth visit in two years and the beach doesn't change much from one year to the next.  There is always the wind, surf, birds, people lounging and surf fishermen.

This gentleman's bucket on the beach was holding several Whiting.  Fishing had been good today.

No word on how this guy was doing.

Most seashells have been broken or so weathered in the wind and surf that they are unrecognizable.  To see one that is whole, such as this, is unusual.

There were more people on the beach today than has been usual.  In a few weeks, spring break, this beach will be elbow-to-elbow college students.

These retirees are having an exciting afternoon at the beach napping, reading and birdwatching.  It's what we retirees do.
