This
set is for my friends, Jim and Gail, who live in Texas this time of
year, but miss the colors of autumn in the north country.
A photographic treatment of the first illustration.
The pictures were all taken along two lane highways and back roads in Muskegon County, Michigan during the past several days.
The trees this year have been especially colorful, unfortunately the days have been mostly cloudy to overcast.
The
entrance to Pioneer County Park north of the city of Muskegon.
At this time of year it's not difficult to get dramatically
colorful photos wherever you look.
A colorful setting around a pond just off the road.
Poplars always produce brilliant yellows, poplarly known as Aspen in Colorado, they're also beautiful in Michigan.
Maples offer up brilliant reds, nicely complimenting the yellow poplars.
Orange leaves contrasted against yellowing green leaves command the camera's attention.
Firey red and yellow leaves sandwiched between evergreens.
A road canopy displaying a wide spectrum of color.
Farther up the road the green of summer hangs on, but it's largely spotted with the colors of autumn.
Doesn't this make all you Winter Texans want to come back north to your down filled jackets, hi-tech winter gloves and hats?
