Golf carts on parade - owners are celebrating Christmas at the Sleepy Valley RV Resort in Mission, Texas. Note the lone bicyclist at the end of the line. |
![]() Pajamas seemed to be a dominant theme. But then, retirees seem to wander around in pajamas quite a lot. |
![]() Chuck, an accomplished equestrian, rides horses in city parades and festivals, hence the equine theme for his cart. |
![]() Had they known it would be so much fun, they would have lived this part of their lives first. |
![]() This was the most "interesting" Santa Claus I've ever seen. Nice looking golf cart, though. |
![]() Miss Vicki was much too full of Christmas cheer; she most certainly did have a good time. |
|
Al and Marlea chose a Mexican theme. Apparently, Christmas is celebrated across the border too - who knew. |
|
Helen and Heather won the Grand Prize with this festively decorated cart. Tuffy, the dog, isn't readily visible in this photo, but her costume added tremendously to the Christmas decor. |
|
It appears that Miss Jackie cracked the seal on the Christmas cheer a little early, too. |
|
Marlea, SVR tour director, and husband Al, still in their stocking caps, enjoy an apres' parade beverage. |
|
Poor Tuffy seems to be saying, "OMG, this is the most embarrassing thing I've ever had to do and if you ever show that photo to anyone I'll bite you right in the 'you know what.'" It was only slight consolation that her cart with Helen and Heather won first prize in the parade. |

My vote would have gone to Vicki, but her two-wheeled vehicle didn't qualify for any of the golf cart prizes. It was, however, the first time anyone has decorated a bicycle and ridden it in the annual parade. The moral of this story is, "Children, keep a closer eye on your parents after they retire." |
