Jess began his photography career as a lab technician at a portrait studio in Saginaw, Michigan where he learned portraiture and wedding photography during his first year of college.  After graduating with a journalism major and a photo-journalism minor,  he continued a career in professional photography.

In addition to wedding and portrait photography, Jess has been a commercial/industrial photographer and has provided photography in the advertising and graphic arts businesses as well as for trade associations, professional societies, colleges and universities, and state government. He has worked as a staff photographer for the Dow Chemical Company, and Delta College.  His photography has been published and distributed world wide in newspapers, corporate magazines and various trade publications.

In 2005 Jess made the move to digital photography and now shoots all assignments with digital cameras and edits them Adobe Photoshop.

In 2009 he became a Certified Adobe Photoshop CS4 Expert.  He teaches photography and Photoshop seminars/workshops in Texas and Michigan.

Jess and his wife, Vicki, are full-time RVers and live in Texas during the winter and spend their summers in Michigan.
